Tottenham Hotspur drew 2-2 with Olympiacos last night, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side were from at their best.

Jermaine Jenas has told BT Sport during their live coverage of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Olympiacos that Christian Eriksen was unrecognisably bad.

Eriksen was selected to start for Spurs, but put in one of his worst ever performances for the Lilywhites, as they slipped to a 2-2 draw.

Tottenham had gone two goals in front in the first half, but they never looked comfortable in Greece, and ultimately let the three points slip.

Eriksen was partly at fault for the second goal which Tottenham conceded, as he gave the ball away on the edge of his area.

That mistake rather summed up an awful night for the Dane, where he lost possession 22 times.

And Jenas said: “He’s unrecognisable. I know for a fact the manager has looked at the bench and thought get him off. “He’s had plenty of great games for Tottenham, but he’s standing out like a sore thumb in terms of how bad he’s been.”

The draw isn’t actually a disastrous result for Tottenham in terms of qualification from the group, but there is a realisation that they must improve.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were so far short of their best yesterday that it was worrying, with Eriksen far from the only player below par in a Tottenham shirt.

Spurs take on Leicester City at the weekend in the Premier League, and only a much better performance will see them take any points.
