Everton suffered another damaging defeat on Saturday when they were beaten by Watford.
Jermaine Jenas has claimed that Everton’s Goodison Park is a ‘nice place’ to play football now whereas beforehand it used to be a ‘tough place’ to visit for opposition players.
Marco Silva’s side are currently struggling to find some form in the Premier League this season and recently suffered another defeat when they were beaten by Watford on Saturday.
The Merseyside outfit have lost back-to-back home games in recent weeks, most recently against current champions Manchester City and before that against recently-promoted Wolves.
As Everton’s problems continue to mount, Jenas offered his brutally honest thoughts on their situation and claimed that Goodison Park no longer has that fear factor.
“I’m watching an Everton team that are far too easy to beat,” Jenas told the Football Daily on BBC Radio 5 Live. “Goodison Park used to be a tough place to go and play football. It just looks like a nice place to go and play now.”
Everton appointed Silva as manager in the summer when he replaced the sacked Sam Allardyce having been at Watford and Hull City in previous seasons.
Life at Goodison Park hasn’t begun in the manner in which Silva would have wanted, his team have suffered a number of poor results in the league and were knocked out by Championship side Millwall in the FA Cup last month.
At this moment in time, they are sitting ninth in the Premier League table, one point ahead of 12th-placed Leicester City and five points behind seventh-placed Wolves.
The Toffees have not registered three points since their win at bottom-of-the-table Huddersfield Town at the end of January as they travel to relegation-threatened Cardiff City on Tuesday night.
