Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas has joined the list of names who have called on Jack Wilshere to leave Arsenal at the end of the season.

The England international joined Bournemouth on loan in the summer after it became clear he was not going to be playing regularly at the Emirates this season.

He has since gone on to put in some impressive performances in a Cherries kit. Meanwhile, at Arsenal, his main rivals for first-team football are not playing too badly themselves – especially the in-form Mesut Ozil.

With that in mind Jenas believes that Wilshere should move on from Arsenal to play regular football. He told BT Sport:

“What’s best for Jack rather than what’s better for Arsenal.

“At the minute they’ve got Mesut Ozil in that position where Jack is flourishing for Bournemouth. I don’t see him taking Ozil out of that place.

“I think the best place for Jack right now is here. Playing week-in and week-out.”

Wilshere is currently remaining fit and the amount of football he is getting will no doubt be improving his match fitness as well as his injury prevention going forward.

Arsenal fans will of course be sad if Wilshere leave but his career may be best served by finding a new place to call home from next season.

Whether or not that place would be Bournemouth or not will remain to be seen.
