Jermaine Jenas and Harry Redknapp speak highly of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele.
Jermaine Jenas explained on the LIVE UEFA Europa League Tonight show on BT Sport Europe on Thursday evening what he thinks of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele.
“Since he arrived (at Tottenham), he has never really been able to hold down that particular spot,” said former Spurs midfielder Jenas.
“When he is at it, there are not many better players, I can promise you. I played against him. I had a spell with him at Spurs.”
Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp added: “I thought he played well against Liverpool. He has great ability.”
Jenas and Redknapp made their comments before Tottenham’s Europa League Group J clash against Anderlecht away from home in Belgium on Thursday evening.
The North London outfit lost the game 2-1, with Dembele struggling to repeat his performance against Liverpool at White Hart Lane.
The Belgium international midfielder is a good player, but he is not very consistent.
The 28-year-old did not have exactly a terrible game against Anderlecht in his native Belgium, but he did not have a good match either.
Perhaps it is time that Dembele starts to find consistency and performs to the level he is expected to week in and week out.
Tottenham are back in action on Sunday when they take on Bournemouth away from home in the Premier League.
