The Rangers hitman bagged a perfect hat-trick for Rangers at Ibrox yesterday.

Jermain Defoe spoke to reporters after scoring three goals for Rangers during their 6-1 win over Hibernian yesterday, and suggested that he it was the first time he has ever scored a ‘perfect hat-trick’, as quoted by the Daily Record.
The 36-year-old joined the Light Blues in January 2019 on a two-year loan deal, and he has gone to score 13 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions.
Defoe is a consummate pro, and Steven Gerrard must be absolutely delighted to have him on board at Ibrox.
Rangers have made a fine start to the season, winning both league games, and they seem to be in a great position from which to challenge Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title.
And with Defoe amongst their ranks, they will have every chance of doing just that.
The former Tottenham Hotspur hitman has enjoyed a wonderful career, but he suggested that yesterday’s ‘perfect hat-trick’ was the first he has ever recorded in professional football, as quoted by the Daily Record:

“As a forward it’s always nice to score hat tricks and I’ve always liked keeping the match ball from day one. It’s my first one here and hopefully I can get more. I don’t think I’ve done the perfect hat trick before. I can’t remember – it’s been so long!”
Next up for Rangers is their Europe League qualifying clash with FC Midtjylland, and they take a 4-2 lead into the second leg.
And Defoe will be hoping to continue his goalscoring form, if selected.
