Jermaine Beckford has stated on Twitter that Manchester City central defender John Stones would get back to his best under Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa.
The former Leeds striker made the suggestion while responding on the social networking site when asked whether Stones would fit in at the Whites.
The 26-year-old central defender has struggled for playing time at City in recent times, although there have been injury problems for the former Everton star.
Should Leeds United make a move for John Stones?
Stones has fallen down the pecking order at Pep Guardiola’s City, and the 26-year-old is likely to struggle for playing time again next season.
A ball-playing central defender who is very comfortable playing out from the back, the England international would make the Whites better, especially as Ben White has gone back to his parent club Brighton and Hove Albion after a loan spell at Elland Road.
However, it is hard to see Leeds cough up the kind of transfer fee that City would demand for Stones, as they are unlikely to sell him on the cheap this summer.
