Leeds United are sitting in the automatic places in the Championship as they face a tough test against Preston North End on Tuesday night.

Jermaine Beckford and Kemar Roofe have congratulated Kalvin Phillips on Instagram after he scored for Leeds during their 1-0 win against Birmingham on Saturday.
Last week, Leeds celebrated their 100th birthday and it was fitting that local boy and boyhood fan, Phillips was the one who secured them the points at Elland Road.
Legends were present during the game, as Leeds celebrated their historic moment, as Phillips burst through midfield resulting in him firing the ball past Blues keeper Lee Camp in the second-half.
After the game, former Leeds striker, Beckford praised Phillips for a ‘top finish’, as the midfielder responded by saying ‘just trying to be like you’. Roofe also added his thoughts by simply stating ‘special moment’.
Here are the messages that were exchanged from Beckford and Roofe to Phillips from their personal Instagram accounts, as other players also sent their messages:

There was a legends gathering last Thursday, which Beckford was a part of and he was also in attendance at Elland Road days later to witness Marcelo Bielsa’s side secure all three points.
As for Roofe, he is now plying his trade in Belgium with Anderlecht, as it could be argued that Leeds are perhaps missing what he brought to the table last season.
Whilst his replacement, Eddie Nketiah is a top talent, he simply isn’t getting the starts in the league, and the guy who is, Patrick Bamford, is once again struggling to be ruthless in front of goal.
Nonetheless, Nketiah will be hoping to earn his first league start of the season when Leeds travel to Beckford’s old stomping ground, Deepdale on Tuesday night.
