Jermaine Beckford has told Football League World that he wants to see more of Wolverhampton Wanderers-owned winger Helder Costa at Leeds United.

Costa joined Championship club Leeds on a season-long loan deal from Premier League outfit Wolves in the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old winger has played just 91 minutes in the Championship for the Whites so far this season, providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.

The Portugal international has also scored one goal in two EFL Cup ties for Marcelo Bielsa’s side so far this campaign, according to WhoScored.

Former Leeds striker Beckford, 35, has said that he wants to see more of Costa and hopes that head coach Bielsa plays him more often.

Beckford told Football League World: “I think he’s a very exciting player; he’s quick, he’s tricky, he pops up in the right place at the right time, scores nice goals. But, we don’t see what he does on a day-to-day basis.

“From an outside perspective, I’d like to see him play week in, week out because he’s so unpredictable and defenders hate playing against him, but that’s going off the exciting moments we’ve seen.”

Important player

Costa may not have been playing too much for Leeds so far this season, but there is no doubt that the winger will be an important player in the team in the coming weeks and months.

Having been a success in the Championship with Wolves, Costa will play an important role in the Whites’ quest to clinch promotion to the Premier League.
