Jermaine Jenas has told Goal.com that Tottenham Hotspur should try and sign David Brooks.

The 21-year-old has lit up the Premier League following an £11.5 million [Echo] move to Bournemouth last summer, netting six goals and setting up four in 21 starts.

Tottenham boss Pochettino is well known for developing young players and taking them to the next level, having done so with the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Davinson Sanchez.

And Jenas says that the former Sheffield United prospect would be ‘perfect’ for Spurs.

He told Goal.com: “We’re talking huge money for him, I think because he is a good player and they know what he will build into.

“Young players have the ability to be fearless when they go to a top club and play well. David Brooks will hopefully go somewhere like Tottenham; I think that’s a perfect fit for him.

“He’s also the perfect fit for the club. He would get game time so it would be nice to see him at Tottenham.”

The North Londoners have been linked with him before [The Sun] which indicates that Pochettino might already be a fan of the young attacker.

But Jenas is right – we’re talking major money. He is very talented, young and English, three ingredients for a huge transfer fee and it remains to be seen what sort of budget the Lilywhites have to work with this summer.
