Jermain Defoe joined Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers on loan in January.

Jermain Defoe has told The Scottish Sun that he wants to stay at Rangers next season.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United striker joined Rangers on an 18-month loan loan deal from Premier League outfit Bournemouth in the January transfer window.
The 36-year-old has disclosed that the Cherries have the option to recall him in the summer transfer window or in January 2020.
The striker, though, has made it clear that he wants to stay at Rangers for the 2019-20 campaign.
Defoe told The Scottish Sun: “I want to stay at Rangers. I want a full season to try and achieve something special here.
“Bournemouth can call me back in the summer and again next January, but I am only focused on being here and scoring goals for Rangers.”

Rangers stay next season?
Defoe is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League, but the English striker’s time at Rangers has been mixed.
The 36-year-old has failed to make a huge impact at Ibrox and is not guaranteed a place in Steven Gerrard’s starting lineup, but his stats do look decent enough.
So far this season, Defoe has made five starts and six substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers so far this season, scoring six goals in the process, according to WhoScored.
