Jermain Defoe is currently on loan at Rangers from Premier League side Bournemouth.

Jermain Defoe has honestly stated that he is just focusing on himself as Alfredo Morelos is set to return to the Rangers squad following his four-game suspension.
The 22-year-old has not played for the club since the Gers were beaten 2-1 by their Old Firm rivals last month and since his absence, his team have won every match.
Speaking to Sky Sports Football (28/04/2019), Defoe was asked whether he thinks he is putting in the performances now Morelos is free from suspension.
“To be honest, I just focus on myself,” Defoe told Sky Sports Football. “First and foremost, I work hard for the team. Make sure I am on it. I did a little hamstring strain in the week, so it was touch and go as to whether I was going to play or not.
“When you’re like this and when you’re playing in a team that is such a good team, you don’t want to miss any games.”
On Sunday afternoon, Steve Gerrard’s side recorded a deserved 2-0 win over rivals Aberdeen, with James Tavernier scoring both goals from the penalty spot.

Over the course of the Scottish Premiership campaign, Rangers have been heavily reliant on Morelos playing up front and delivering the goods for them.
But since Defoe has been given a regular run in the side, the former England man has proven his worth and he has put in a number of strong displays for the Scottish club.
Since moving from the Premier League to the Scottish Premiership, Defoe has played 13 league matches, scoring six goals and supplying his teammates with five assists [transfermarkt].
