Jermain Defoe has stated on his personal Twitter account that he is ‘Rangers ready’ and cannot wait to get started ahead of the new season.
Following the premature conclusion of the recent season because of Coronavirus, the new Scottish Premiership campaign will begin next month with Rangers vying to win their first title under Steven Gerrard.
Not only would it be important for the Gers to be crowned champions of Scotland, but stopping their rivals from winning 10 in a row will also be important to them.
Here is Defoe’s message to the Rangers supporters, as posted on his personal Twitter account.
Whilst Defoe isn’t a starter at Rangers because of Alfredo Morelos, his performances when he does earn a start and from the bench could be mightly important next season.
The Gers need to learn to grind out results, and most importantly, need players other than Morelos to put the ball into the back of the net during crucial stages.
If Gerrard’s men can learn that then their chances of producing better performances during the second half of the season might just increase.
