If QPR only make one more signing before deadline day I hope it is the one and only Jermain Defoe.
The perfect word to describe him is quality; a man born to play the beautiful game.
As a fan of the West London club I have to say the signings we’ve made so far have added extra skill as well as pace and most of all experience.
The most surprising signing under Mark Hughes was Djibril Cisse but the man from France is just pure class; if he were to partner Defoe then defences across the Premier League would be in fear of them.
In my humble opinion he’s wasted at Tottenham Hotspur; a goal scorer of his stature shouldn’t be a sub. He should be playing every game. His record speaks for itself.
At international level he’s made forty eight appearances – many as sub -scoring fifteen goals. That’s a great record to have and I hope he adds to it.
The one thing I like about him is he gets on with his job without any fuss; if a decision goes against him he gets on with it unlike some prima donnas that don’t.
Looking back on his great career I can see he’s scored goals at every club he’s played for. He averages a goal every three games but as I said Spurs have used him a lot as a sub which makes his goal tally even more impressive.
At this point in his career I think he needs a new challenge and I hope he buys into what is happening at Loftus Road.
My team were lucky to survive last season but we did, so that is now in the past. Both Tony Fernandes and Mark Hughes knew we’d need to rebuild and I have to admit I’m surprised how quickly it’s come about.
As I said at the beginning if we were to only sign one more player I’d like it to be Defoe but I highly doubt it will only be one.
As the owner himself said, ‘We’re looking at two or three more players.’
Well on top of signing Defoe can we add Chris Samba and Junior Hoilett or am I being greedy?
Could QPR convince Defoe to leave White Hart Lane?
