Jermain Defoe is on loan at Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers from Bournemouth.

Defoe joined Rangers on an 18-month loan deal from Premier League club Bournemouth in January 2019.
The 36-year-old is out of contract at the Cherries at the end of the season, and he will become a free agent next summer.
Defoe has suggested that he could stay at Rangers next summer, and has said that Gers manager Steven Gerrard wants him at Ibrox.
Defoe told The Scottish Sun: “The manager knows I love it here and I know he wants me here. I never think of stopping playing. I just take each day as it comes.”
The striker added: “As you get older, you’re obviously not as sharp as you were when you were 25. But I still feel like I am able to get my shots off and do things like I did a few years ago. Mentally I am in a good place.”
Rangers stay
Defoe may be 36 years of age, but the striker is still going strong and is scoring goals regularly for Rangers.
The Englishman has been superb for the Gers, and him staying at Ibrox next season as well does make sense.
Alfredo Morelos is a very good player, but for Rangers to be successful next season, they need another capable striker, and Defoe is just that.
Rangers are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title this season, as well as progress to the knockout stage of the Europa League.
