Jermain Defoe and Clive Allen have both sent messages to Tottenham Hotspur, following the North London’s side’s celebration at White Hart Lane yesterday.

Spurs invited their legends to the home ground, but Defoe was unable to be in attendance.

The Sunderland forward had other commitments yesterday, meaning he was unable to join some of his former teammates at Tottenham’s match against Manchester United.

However, Defoe was still interested in the last match Spurs played at White Hart Lane.

And the 34-year-old posted a message to his former side on social media.

Allen, meanwhile, was at Tottenham’s match against United – and was paraded on the pitch after the contest finished.

The legendary forward also posted a message of his gratitude on Twitter.

In the match, Spurs won 2-1 against United to give White Hart Lane a fitting send off.

Tottenham scored their goals through Victor Wanyama and Harry Kane.
