Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have recently brought Jermain Defoe to add to the firepower at Steven Gerrard’s disposal.

Glasgow Rangers could have a destructive strike partnership, if they manage to keep hold of Alfredo Morelos and partner him with Jermain Defoe.

Rangers would have to alter their system slightly to get the pair working together up-front, but if Steven Gerrard could do it then the duo could cause chaos in Scotland.

Morelos has already proven himself as one of the most energetic and troublesome strikers in the league, and with a clinical finisher like Defoe up alongside him, Rangers could be a real threat.

When Defoe arrived at Ibrox there were some suggestions that it could mean that Morelos was made available.

But the Scottish Sun claims that Morelos will be kept at Ibrox, at least until the end of the season.

And the potential to see Morelos and Defoe linking up should be seriously exciting for all Rangers fans, as defences will surely struggle to cope against them.

Rangers are already locked in the title battle, and if Gerrard can get Morelos and Defoe working in tandem, then it may just shift the balance of power in his side’s favour.
