Sunderland may be about to sell the outcast Dutchman to Turkey.
Jeremain Lens scores the second goal for Sunderland
Sunderland outcast Jeremain Lens has admitted he would be keen on a transfer to Turkish side Besiktas. The Dutch forward is quoted by Posta as stating:
“My friends there are saying that it is a nice atmosphere. If you agree with the club, I would like to play in Besiktas.”

He has recently been on loan at fellow Istanbul club Fenerbahce but they are not believed to be interested in signing him. That is after his former Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat left Istanbul to become Netherlands boss. According to the same report, Sunderland are willing to sell him to Besiktas for a fee in the region of six million euros (£5.2 million).
That would represent a massive loss for Sunderland. The Guardian reported that the Dutch attacker cost the Black Cats a fee in the region of £13 million when he was signed from Dynamo Kiev in 2015. That would represent a loss of £6.8 million on the 33 times capped Dutch international.

But Sunderland fans would still be very happy to see the back of the 29-year-old. Lens is not the most popular man at Sunderland. The Dutchman admitted he wanted his parent club to get relegated, so he had a higher chance of securing an exit from the Stadium of Light.
He got his wish and now Sunderland fans will be hoping not to see him in the red-and-white again.
