Jermaine Jenas praised Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale on BT Sport 2 (7:19pm, November 5, 2020).
The former Tottenham midfielder was impressed by the performance of Bale during the North London club’s 3-1 win against Ludogorets Razgrad in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
Jenas was on co-commentary duty for the match for BT Sport 2, and he said that the Wales international, signed on loan from Real Madrid in the summer of 2020, was in another gear.
The Englishman also praised another of Spurs’ summer signings Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who joined Jose Mourinho’s side from Premier League rivals Southampton.
Jenas said about Bale in the 66th minute of the match on BT Sport 2 (November 5, 2020): “He had that feeling tonight, almost like a boxer when he is just getting in and out, in and out, and you just feel that you can’t get near him. That’s what it looked like watching Gareth today. He was just in another gear really, another dimension to his play.”
The Englishman said about Hojbjerg in the 63rd minute of the match on BT Sport 2 (November 5, 2020): “Talking of new players fitting into squads and teams, really stamping down their authority on how they play, he has fitted in like a glove, Hojbjerg.”
