Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas played with new Everton signing Gylfi Sigurdsson at Spurs.
Jenas was on the books of Tottenham from 2005 until 2013, while Sigurdsson played for the North London outfit from 2012 until 2014.
“When he arrived at Spurs, I was shocked, I would say, in terms how good he actually was,” said Jenas about Sigurdsson on The Friday Football Social show on BBC Radio 5live on Friday evening (7pm, August 18, 2017). “He has got two unbelievable feet.”
Sigurdsson arrived at Spurs with a strong reputation, but the Iceland international attacking midfielder failed to make a massive impact at White Hart Lane.
The former Reading man could not play regularly for Spurs and joined Premier League rivals Swansea City in the summer of 2014.
Over the past three years, the 27-year-old has taken his game to a new level and has joined Everton in the summer transfer window.
According to The Guardian, Everton had to pay the Swans a transfer fee of £45 million in order to secure the services of the attacking midfielder.
Sigurdsson scored nine goals and provided 13 assists in 37 Premier League starts for Swansea last season.
