Mauricio Pochettino has signed a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur have handed a new contract to manger Mauricio Pochettino, as announced on the Premier League club’s official website.
Pochettino has put pen to paper on a new five-year contract with Tottenham which will run until 2013.
The Argentine was appointed the Spurs boss in the summer of 2014 following his departure from Premier League rivals Southampton.
Tottenham have progressed massively under the 46-year-old, as they have finished in the top four of the Premier League three seasons in a row and also reached the knockout rounds of the Champions League this past campaign.
According to The Times, the new contract means that Pochettino’s salary will now be on a salary of £8.5 million per year – a £3m increase.
The Telegraph claimed earlier this week that Chelsea had been keeping tabs on the former Espanyol manager.
The Times has also claimed that Pochettino is now the fourth highest-paid manager in the Premier League after Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho and Chelsea’s Antonio Conte.
Former Tottenham trio Jermaine Jenas, Graham Roberts and Micky Hazard have taken to Twitter to give their reactions to Spurs’ decision to hand Pochettino a new contract.
