Slaven Bilic has been sacked by West Ham after the club dropped into the bottom three of the Premier League.
Jermaine Jenas has told BT Sport that West Ham United’s “pride and passion” is non-existent after Slaven Bilic was sacked by the club on Monday.
Bilic, 49, saw the Hammers suffer a heavy 4-1 loss to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool on Saturday evening at the London Stadium, succumbing the Croat to the inevitable in his third season as West Ham boss.
The former Besiktas and Croatia manager leaves the Hammers in a lowly 18th place in the Premier League with just two wins from 11 outings, despite making high-profile summer signings in Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta, Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez.
Speaking to BT Sport Football before Bilic was sacked, former England international Jenas pointed out what was missing from the Hammers play and spoke of the atmosphere at the London Stadium.
“I’ve been to the London Stadium quite a bit this season and watched them play and it feels bad in that stadium,” Jenas said.”
“The fans are really worried, they don’t seem to have that identity. The one thing that you always associate with West Ham is that pride and passion that translates itself onto the pitch.
“It’s not there. Teams are going there and finding it easy to play against them, wiping the floor with them. The feeling of West Ham is not there.”
According to the Guardian, former Everton boss David Moyes will replace Bilic in the managerial hotseat at West Ham despite an overwhelmingly bad reaction on social media from West Ham fans to a possible move for Moyes.
The Hammers hierarchy will be desperate to get someone in as quick as possible while the international break takes priority, with the east Londoners net in action on November 19 away at Vicarage Road against Watford.
