Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is never far away from a ‘controversy’ in the media, and there is one brewing right now.
It has been quite a difficult season for Manchester United. Arguably the biggest club in England, United are not going to finish in the Premier League top four.
There is even a distinct possibility that the Red Devils, who are keen on signing Viktor Gyokeres in the summer transfer window, will not end up in the European places and could finish below West Ham United and Chelsea in the Premier League table.
United were in action this past weekend. They played out a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth away from home in the Premier League.
Alejandro Garnacho started the match for United. Manager Erik ten Hag deployed the Argentina international winger on the right, with Marcus Rashford playing on the left in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Ten Hag decided to take off Garnacho at half time. The 19-year-old winger was understandably not happy with the decision, and, as reported by talkSPORT, he liked two social media posts from talkSPORT presenter Mark Goldbridge.
The posts from Goldbridge criticised Ten Hag for his decision to take off Garnacho and also slammed the United manager for publicly criticising the teenager for his performance.
Jeff Stelling gives his verdict on Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho
TalkSPORT presenter Jeff Stelling has now given his take on the situation.
The former Soccer Saturday presenter has noted that while Garnacho had given the ball away for the opening Bournemouth goal, he has been one of the best players for the Red Devils this season and is bound to concede possession because of the way he plays.
The winger has scored seven goals and given three assists in 24 starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.
Stelling said about Garnacho on talkSPORT (6:30 am, April 15, 2024): “The only thing that I would say is that Garnacho has been one of their best players all season long.
“He is going to lose the ball from time to time because he takes people on, he is brave enough to take people on, and on that day, against Bournemouth, Ten Hag could have taken any one of nine outfield players off because there were hopeless.
“There was only Bruno Fernandes, the only one who kept them in the game. He was absolutely brilliant.”
Alejandro Garnacho needs to be more mature
In my opinion, Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho needs to show a bit more maturity.
Yes, I understand that he was frustrated at the decision to take off him at half-time, but there was no need for him to go on social media and like the posts that he did.
Garnacho could have spoken to Erik ten Hag about the decision in person.
Of course, I know that Garnacho is only 19. He is still growing as a person, but he is also a professional footballer who needs to be wary of what to do and what not to do on social media.
