Jeff Stelling told Soccer Saturday (13/03/21 at 12:40 pm) that there was ‘more entertainment’ after nine minutes of Leeds’ goalless draw against Chelsea than there was during a whole hour of Love Island Australia.

It was typical gung-ho football from Marcelo Bielsa’s all-action Leeds side yesterday and it has to be questioned how they, along with Chelsea, didn’t manage to find the back of the net.

Thomas Tuchel’s men did hit the crossbar during the early stages, including when Leeds nearly scored an own goal following a clearance gone wrong.

Nonetheless, Soccer Saturday host, Stelling, was initially talking about how he didn’t watch the second half of Newcastle’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Friday night because his family turned over to watch Love Island Australia instead.

He then proceeded to state what was more entertaining, Love Island Australia, Newcastle v Villa or the opening ten minutes of Leeds’ clash with Chelsea?

“I have to go back to Elland Road, I am sorry,” laughed Stelling who couldn’t believe the action that was unfolding.

“Look, we have had more entertainment in nine minutes and 55 seconds of Leeds United against Chelsea than we did in 90 odd minutes last night of Newcastle against Aston Villa.

“Or indeed an hour of Love Island Australia.

“It’s absolutely brilliant stuff, so far. Leeds were fortunate to get away with that one (on Chelsea hitting the bar) but now they are down the other end and that is what it’s like.”

Like the Newcastle team of the 90s’, this Leeds side are the entertainers of the Premier League today.

Marcelo Bielsa has won a lot of fans over with the style he has brought to England’s top-flight, no more than those at Elland Road.

Leeds were rotting away in the Championship before he took over but nearly two decades of hurt was ended in spectacular fashion by Bielsa when he guided them to promotion within two seasons.
