Tottenham Hotspur take on Millwall in the FA Cup this weekend, hoping to get the better of the League One side and make their way into the semi-finals.

But the underdogs are clearly treating this match as something of a free swing, if the comments of Jed Wallace are anything to go by.

The Wolves loanee was speaking to London News Online when he admitted that the FA Cup was simply a bonus for his team and that defeat v Spurs would not be a major issue at the Den:

“I’d take an 8-0 defeat now if it means we get to the play-off final at Wembley.

“I don’t really care for the FA Cup game. It’s a bonus for us. Like the manager says, whether we get beaten 4-0 or win 1-0 and make a name for ourselves, that’s fine, but the only success we really, really want this year is to be playing in the Championship next year.

“Tottenham is not the main priority. But are the midfield players going to run 12km like they did on Saturday? Of course they are. Am I going to be running 1,200 metres at my highest intensity? Of course I am.”

The beauty of the FA Cup can be that teams under no pressure can cause a shock and Millwall will be hoping that can be the case.

But given some of the form Spurs have shown recently, Europa League aside, it might not be a wise thing for Millwall to test Spurs in this way.

Wallace says an 8-0 defeat would not bother him or the team, but if Tottenham play like they did v Stoke or Fulham recently then Millwall might genuinely find themselves on the end of such a scoreline this weekend.
