Aston Villa boss Dean Smith recently recalled Jed Steer from a loan spell at Charlton Athletic.

Villa loaned out Steer during the first half of the season, and he went on to impress on loan at Charlton Athletic.
Smith recalled Steer at the first opportunity, and immediately instated him in Villa’s goal at the weekend.
The 6ft 2inch stopper played well, as Villa picked up a 2-2 draw with Queens Park Rangers.
However, his time as Villa’s number one is unlikely to last long, following the addition of Lovre Kalinic.
Kalinic is set to become Villa’s number one, but Steer does not believe he will be sent out on loan again.
“A new goalkeeper has come in and it is going to be a challenge,” he said.
“It’s going to be a battle.

“I want to play as many games as I can, so I am looking forward to that challenge. We will see what happens.
“By the sounds of it I am here to the end of the season so that is the plan.”
Steer has shown flashes of quality at Villa, but has not been able to hold down a place in their first-team yet.
Villa are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Swansea City in the FA Cup.
