Aston Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer has been impressed of late.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer has told The Express and Star that he thinks life under goalkeeping coach Neil Cutler has been ‘brilliant’ since his arrival.
Villa claimed a 3-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon, and the likes of John McGinn, Albert Adomah and Tammy Abraham claimed most of the credit having scored key goals.
However, goalkeeper Steer made his impact known too, as he produced a superb penalty save to deny Steven Fletcher, with the game finely poised at 1-1.
Steer gave Villa the platform to go on and win the game, and he has been hailed by Villa fans in the aftermath of the game, giving the club’s goalkeeping issues in the past.
January signing Lovre Kalinic didn’t impress, so lost his place to Steer, who returned from a loan deal with Charlton Athletic in January. Even before that, the likes of Orjan Nyland and Andre Moreira were disappointing imports.
Steer now appears to be Villa’s first-choice goalkeeper, and he has hailed goalkeeping coach Cutler, who boss Dean Smith raided rivals West Bromwich Albion for back in November.

Steer has admitted that life under Cutler has been ‘brilliant’, and feels that all the goalkeepers have improved under Cutler’s influence, praising his work on the training ground as Smith’s move appears to be paying dividends.
“It’s been brilliant,” he said. “There have been fine details we have touched on and I think I speak for all the goalkeepers at the club when I say we have all improved. Every day we go onto the training pitch wanting to improve and get to the next level to help the team. It has been really good,” he added.
