Young Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Aaron Collins has joined National League side Maidstone United on a one month loan deal.
Usually deployed as a central striker but also capable of playing on either flank, Collins has scored two goals and provided two assists in nine appearances for Wolves’ U23 side so far this season.
Collins has yet to make his senior debut for Wolves, whom he joined from Newport County in January 2016, although he has been an unused substitute in the Championship on one occasion.
He has, however, gained experienced during loan spells at Notts County and Tranmere Rovers and will hope to make a significant impact for his new temporary club.
The 20-year-old faces a difficult task in attempting to break into the first-team set-up at Wolves, who are performing excellently under the guidance of Nuno Espirito Santo and are currently top of the Championship.
With his Wolves contract expiring at the conclusion of the current campaign, there is a possibility that Collins could be let go, which provides an indication as to why his latest loan spell is so important.
Playing in competitive fixtures and in front of watching scouts, Collins will be given the opportunity to impress onlookers and potentially secure a deal elsewhere for next season if he does end up leaving Wolves.
