Midfielder Mark Noble has been an unused substitute for West Ham’s last two games
One of David Moyes’ first major acts as West Ham United manager was to drop Mark Noble following his disappointing display against Watford.
However, after West Ham were thrashed 4-0 by his former club Everton last night, Moyes may well be considering handing Noble a recall as he desperately searches for any solution that could help to improve his team.
West Ham were woeful at Goodison Park and Noble, for the second game in succession, remained an unused substitute throughout.
Matters are unlikely to get easier for West Ham any time soon, with their next three Premier League games seeing them face Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Moyes is likely to make several changes to his side across those games – and one of them could well involve Noble earning a recall to the side.
The 30-year-old has certainly not been at his best this season, as he has struggled to influence matches and has lacked his usual conviction.
It appears that Noble’s days of being able to perform consistently well may be over, but he could still have a part to play by being used on a rotational basis and would relish the opportunity to be involved in some of the big games that are coming up.
