West Bromwich Albion manager is under pressure after disappointing recent results.
West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has admitted that he would fully understand if the club decided to sack him.
It has been a woeful start to the season for West Brom, who are in 16th place in the Premier League and have lost their last three games in succession.
Pulis finds himself under a considerable amount of pressure and is seemingly prepared for the worst case scenario of being dismissed.
As reported by Eurosport, Pulis said: “No, not at all. If the club decide what they decide, I’ve got great respect for the football club, the supporters, the chairman, the board – it’s just life. It’s the way it is. If you don’t get results, you’re under pressure.
“I understand, the more you give, the more people want. We brought in a lot of good players, players we hoped would gel straight away, and we’ve been unfortunate.”
West Brom’s next two games are rather daunting – they host Chelsea tomorrow before travelling to face Tottenham Hotspur next weekend.
If the Baggies were to lose both of those fixtures then it wouldn’t be surprising if Pulis was dismissed.
Pulis was appointed as West Brom manager in January 2015 but the season so far has been hugely disappointing, despite the summer arrivals of players such as Grzegorz Krychowiak (who joined on loan from Paris Saint Germain), Gareth Barry and Kieran Gibbs.
A lack of goals has been a major problem for West Brom so far this season, with Pulis’ side having scored just nine times in their eleven Premier League games.
It appears that time could well be running out for Pulis at West Brom, although a shock win against Chelsea would provide him with a lifeline.
