Tom Davies burst onto the scene for Everton in spectacular fashion last season with some excellent performances but, as has been the case with many of his team-mates, this campaign hasn’t exactly gone to plan for the midfielder.

With Everton having endured a tumultuous time, Davies’ form suffered as he produced some disappointing displays but there have been some encouraging signs of late that the 19-year-old is returning to his best, suggesting that he could have a major part to play under new manager Sam Allardyce.

Davies is extremely comfortable in possession and is capable of helping Everton to push up the pitch with his ability to set the tempo.

The prospect impressed during Everton’s 4-0 victory over West Ham United last week in David Unsworth’s final game in temporary charge, while he also caught the eye as The Toffees commenced the Sam Allardyce era with a 2-0 victory against Huddersfield Town.

If Allardyce keeps faith with Davies and provides him with regular game time then the youngster can take his game to new heights, especially with the team playing with increased confidence.
