The Everton striker was accused of going to ground too easily against Crystal Palace.
Everton striker Oumar Niasse has revealed that he will be shocked if he is charged with diving following an incident involving Scott Dann in the 2-2 draw away to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Niasse went down in the area under a challenge from Dann, with a penalty being awarded and Leighton Baines converting from the spot to equalise for Everton.
Dann accused Niasse of going to ground too easily but the Senegalese attacker is adamant that there was contact.
As reported by Sky Sports, Niasse said: “People were saying that I fell down easily. I don’t know. I didn’t see the video again. To get into the box, I tried to dribble the guy; he was coming into contact.
“When I felt the contact, I knew then he pushed me away.
“The contact was on my upper body but when I felt the contact I was in the box so that is it: that is all I have to do, go on the floor. It was because I was running so quick.
“I will be shocked [if I am charged with diving] because there is contact.”
Niasse managed to get on the score sheet later in the game, to take his tally to six goals in nine games across all competitions this season.
The 27-year-old has emerged to become an unlikely hero for Everton in very difficult circumstances, although there is still much work for the club to do in order to get out of their current predicament as they are currently in 16th place in the Premier League table.
Everton are in Europa League action on Thursday night as they host Atalanta but the Toffees have already been eliminated from that competition, meaning there is not much importance being placed on that fixture.
Of greater significance to Everton is their next league game, which sees them face Southampton away on Sunday.
