The Newcastle attacker is currently on loan at Bolton Wanderers.
Newcastle United may be enduring a difficult spell at present, with the club having gone six Premier League games without a victory, but one of the club’s loanees has praised manager Rafael Benitez, describing him as “a tactical genius”.
Adam Armstrong is on loan at Championship side Bolton Wanderers until January and was eager to praise Benitez.
Armstrong told The Bolton News: “Rafa is a brilliant manager who has worked with some of the best players in the world.
“He’s just got a presence when he is stood in front of you, you can’t help but be taken in by.
“Rafa Benitez is a tactical genius and I see a lot of him in the gaffer (Phil Parkinson) here.”
Benitez has coaches some of the most high-profile clubs in Europe, including Liverpool, with whom he won the Champions League in 2005, Chelsea, Valencia, Napoli, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
The Spaniard certainly faces a difficult task in attempting to get Newcastle out of their current predicament but will look to make good use of his experience and the tactical flexibility that Armstrong referred to.
As far as Armstrong is concerned, the 20-year-old is still attempting to prove that he deserves a chance in the first-team at Newcastle, having previously taken in loan spells at Coventry City and Barnsley.
So far this season the attacker has mustered just one goal in the Championship, although he has mostly been used out wide as opposed to up front.
