The winger is still yet to score for Middlesbrough but has plenty to offer.
You certainly know what you are going to get with Adama Traore, with the Middlesbrough winger renowned for his searing speed and lack of end product.
The former Barcelona youngster is superb at bursting past players but he often fails to make a telling impact with his crosses and shots; indeed Traore has yet to score for Middlesbrough in 44 appearances and has provided only four assists.
Although they have lost their last two Championship games, Middlesbrough remain in the top half of the table and there is still a possibility that Garry Monk’s side could secure a place in the play-offs this campaign.
Traore will certainly hope to play a part in proceedings and Middlesbrough should continue to keep faith with him, even though it is understandable why some supporters may be immensely frustrated with the 21-year-old.
Middlesbrough can lack dynamism at times and there are occasions when Traore is the only player that is capable of providing them with a spark due to his pace.
Although he struggles to be decisive in the final third, Traore can create uncertainty amongst opposing defences, which can lead to mistakes being made, from which Middlesbrough can capitalise.
It is clear that Traore is far more suited to playing on the right wing than on the left flank, as he appears especially uncomfortable in the latter position, but Middlesbrough shouldn’t consider selling him.
Despite his flaws, the prospect can still be of great use to Middlesbrough and perhaps for now the best option would be for him to be used as an impact substitute so that he can run at tiring defences.
