The midfielder has been used sparingly by Leeds this season.
Leeds United have lacked consistency of late, with Thomas Christiansen’s side winning two, drawing one and losing two of their last five Championship games.
It seems likely that Christiansen will look to strengthen the Leeds squad in the January transfer window to aid the club’s quest for promotion, but he already has some options at his disposal that he could perhaps make better use of.
Mateusz Klich, for instance, has been used sparingly since joining from FC Twente in the summer, with the Polish midfielder having made just four Championship appearances, the most recent of which came in September.
With several games coming up over the hectic festive period, Christiansen will have to make good use of his squad, which could include Klich receiving some opportunities to impress.
Despite not being especially quick, Klich is still capable of making a major impact in midfield as he can set the tempo of a game with some slick passes.
On the occasions that he has featured this season Klich has caught the eye with his passing range and he could potentially replace Ronaldo Vieira in the starting lineup, at least for some fixtures.
Leeds need greater balance in midfield and Klich is certainly capable of providing it with his calming presence in possession.
Bringing the 27-year-old back into the side would provide Leeds with a bit more balance, and could help them greatly as they aim to finally secure a return to the Premier League.
