West Brom have some very difficult fixtures coming up, so must take something from their weekend game against Swansea City.
Alan Pardew is fully aware of the size of the task facing him at West Bromwich Albion, with the club currently teetering precariously above the relegation zone.
Pardew oversaw a goalless draw against Crystal Palace in his first game in charge of West Brom, but will be desperately seeking a victory in tomorrow’s game away to Swansea City.
Following the Swansea game, West Brom take on Liverpool away and Manchester United at home, while Arsenal will also visit The Hawthorns before the end of the month.
It would be a major bonus if Pardew was to enjoy success against the big clubs but, given West Brom’s current form, the likelihood is that they will struggle in those fixtures – which is why the meeting with Swansea is so significant.
Swansea are bottom of the Premier League table having lost four of their last five fixtures, and tomorrow’s game at the Liberty Stadium represents an excellent opportunity for Pardew to get his first victory as West Brom boss and start to gain some momentum. Pardew will not want his team going into the following 3 fixtures will more confidence issues.
West Brom badly lacked cohesion and defensive stability in the closing stages of Tony Pulis’ tenure, but Pardew is determined to address those issues and switched to a back four against Palace, which helped to make the Baggies more resilient at the back.
With some very difficult games on the horizon, it is imperative that West Brom take all three points against Swansea.
