The young Celtic striker has made a major impact for club and country.
Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has praised Moussa Dembele, saying that his teammate has been on fire recently.
Dembele struggled with a hamstring injury at the start of the season but he has now returned to full sharpness and scored a hat-trick for France U21s against Slovenia during the international break, while he has scored three goals in his last three league games for Celtic.
Griffiths, who emerged off the bench to score the winner in Celtic’s 1-0 success against Ross County at the weekend, was full of praise for Dembele and stated that there is much competition for places going into a busy week that sees Brendan Rodgers’ side face Paris Saint-Germain away in the Champions League prior to taking on Motherwell in the Scottish League Cup final.
As reported by the Belfast Telegraph, Griffiths said: “Moussa has come back and he has been on fire again. It shows how hard he has worked to get back fit. We have a big week.
“The manager will take into consideration we have a (Betfred) cup final (against Motherwell) at the end of the week so it will be a difficult choice for him to make.
“But anyone who starts the game will more than deserve to play.”
Dembele scored 32 goals across all competitions for Celtic last season and offers much for his side with his excellent pace and technique.
Rodgers has some interesting attacking options to choose from and Dembele will hope that he can rediscover his best form and make a major impact this season.
Griffiths, meanwhile, has produced some encouraging displays this campaign, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists across all competitions, meaning Dembele’s place in the starting line-up is far from guaranteed.
