QPR’s defensive resources have been stretched in recent weeks.

Alex Baptiste has admitted that Queens Park Rangers are “down to the bare bones” defensively at present but expressed hope that the situation will soon improve.
QPR manager Ian Holloway has had to be innovative in assembling his defence in recent games, with the likes of Joel Lynch, Steven Caulker, Grant Hall, James Perch and Nedum Onuoha having struggled with injuries.
Going into Saturday’s game at home to Leeds United, QPR’s resources are depleted even further, with Baptiste to miss the game through suspension after getting sent off against Preston North End.
However, the experienced defender stated that Holloway will soon have more options to choose from.

Baptiste told Get West London: “We’ve had a lot of injuries at the back and we’re down to the bare bones at the minute, but people are coming back now and hopefully when they are back I can play well enough to keep my place in the team.
“The defence has done alright. Obviously you look back and there’s games and goals where we think we can do better but I think we’ve held our own.”
Pawel Wszolek, who is usually deployed as a winger, has had to fill in at right-back in recent weeks, while Jake Bidwell has flitted between playing at centre-back, left-back and left wing-back.

QPR are battling to preserve their Championship status and are currently in 18th place in the table, having taken 22 points from the 20 games that they have played so far.
Despite being beaten 1-0 by Preston last time out they will be determined to prevail against Leeds.
