The goalkeeper will be looking to regain a regular starting place in the West Ham side
Joe Hart has been an ever-present for West Ham United in the Premier League this season, but that run will come to an end on Sunday against Manchester City.
Hart is ineligible to play against his parent club at the Etihad Stadium, but there is a case for suggesting that the England international should have been dropped in any case.
So far this season Hart has managed to keep just three clean sheets in the Premier League, while he has conceded an alarming 30 goals.
On Wednesday night, Hart was heavily criticised by West Ham supporters for a weak clearance which resulted in Wayne Rooney finding the net from inside his own half as Everton ran out 4-0 winners at Goodison Park.
Although Hart is still capable of making impressive saves at times – and it should also be taken into consideration that he has an unconvincing defence ahead of him – the goalkeeper surely can’t be satisfied with his performances for West Ham so far.
Adrian now faces the unenviable task of attempting to keep a clean sheet against a City side that have scored 44 goals in the Premier League this season.
The Spaniard, however, will be determined to seize his opportunity, especially as he is aware that a good performance could lead to him getting a run in the side at Hart’s expense.
West Ham manager David Moyes has already shown that he isn’t afraid to drop established players such as Mark Noble – and Hart could well follow suit, with Adrian ready to take advantage.
