Leeds United striker Jay-Roy Grot has congratulated his teammate Pascal Struijk on Instagram on signing a new contract.

Struijk has committed his long-term future to Leeds by putting pen to paper on a new three-and-a-half-year deal, as announced by the Premier League club on their official website today.

This means that the 21-year-old, who can operate as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder, will stay at Elland Road until the summer of 2024 at least.

The 21-year-old Dutchman has taken to Instagram to express his delight at the new contract, and his Leeds teammate and compatriot Grot, who can also operate as a winger, is happy for him.

Grot responded: “Congrats bro 🔥❤️”
Adam Forshaw responded: “Congrats mate 👏”
Ryan Edmondson responded: “Virgil👏🏼💙”

Important player for Leeds United

Struijk has been on the books of Leeds since January 2018 when he joined from Ajax and has established himself as an important player in Marcelo Bielsa’s team.

According to WhoScored, the youngster has made four appearances in the Premier League so far this season, while during the 2019-20 campaign, he made two starts and three substitute appearances in the Championship for the West Yorkshire club.
