Marcelo Bielsa quickly loaned out Jay-Roy Grot after taking charge at Leeds United last year.

Leeds United’s forgotten man, Jay-Roy Grot, faces a hugely important pre-season back at Elland Road over the summer.
Grot was swiftly loaned out by Leeds after Marcelo Bielsa took charge, following a disappointing first season with the Whites.
The 21-year-old badly struggled to cope in his first season in English football after a £1.5 million move (Daily Express), where he scored just one goal in 22 Leeds appearances.
Grot often looked clumsy in possession at Leeds, and he failed to make any sort of positive impression.
However, a loan move to Holland with VVV Venlo seems to have done him the world of good.
Grot has scored six goals in Holland’s top flight this term, and actually showed some of the talent which made Leeds sign him in the first place.

Grot may well have done enough away from Leeds to convince Bielsa to give him a second opportunity.
The Whites are looking to improve their attacking quality for next season, and Grot does possess the power to cause defences problems.
If he can impress over pre-season, Grot may still have half a chance of making a success of his time at Leeds.
And if the forward does prove to be an asset, it will be a major boost to Leeds’ chances of promotion next term.
