Leeds United are said to have tabled a bid for the teenage attacker.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United have made a bid for NEC Nijmegen player Jay-Roy Grot, and if the 19-year-old does ultimately arrive at Elland Road he has the skill-set and versatility to excel at the club.
With Chris Wood moving to Burnley, the Whites are in need of more fire-power before the transfer window closes, with two new attackers expected to arrive between now and 31 August.

One of those could be Grot, after Leeds made their move for a man with just a year left on his current contract and, while he is only 19, the Dutchman could go down a storm in Yorkshire.
While predominantly a centre forward, the Leeds target is also comfortable playing on either wing, as an attacking midfielder or as a secondary striker, and that versatility means he could adapt to a number of different situations as and when required.
With the likes of Samu Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski also able to shift across the front line when required, Grot would add even more fluidity in attack; an enticing prospect for a side that could be scoring for fun once they find their groove under new manager Thomas Christiansen.
There is no doubt Leeds need more than one new striker, with Grot alone unable to fill the sizable void left by Wood’s acrimonious departure. But if the Whites can get the former for a knock-down price they would still have plenty of money left to sign an experienced forward to take the strain.
Leeds may have been busy this summer, but Wood’s exit means they could be completing business right up until the deadline.
