Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

Former Bolton Wanderers attacking midfielder Jay-Jay Okocha has told ESPN FC that Kelechi Iheanacho should leave Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

Iheanacho is one of the best and most promising young forwards in the Premier League and has been linked with moves away from City in the summer transfer window.

The Sun has credited Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City with interest in the 20-year-old Nigeria international forward, who is claimed to be rated at £20 million.

Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho misses a chance to score

Former Bolton and Nigeria star Okocha has suggested that his compatriot should leave the Etihad Stadium in the summer transfer window.

“I think he has come at that age that he needs regular first-team games and I think it would be a better decision for him to go somewhere else where he can play week in week out,” Okocha told ESPN FC about Iheanacho. “So I think that’s a great decision for him to move out of Manchester City this season.”

Iheanacho is behind Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus in the pecking order at City at the moment, and it would make sense for him to leave the Citizens this summer.

Tottenham would be a good destination for the youngster. True, Harry Kane is the first-choice striker at Spurs at the moment, but the Nigerian could establish himself just behind him in the pecking order as Vincent Janssen struggled badly last season.

Moreover, the youngster would get to work with manager Mauricio Pochettino, who has a brilliant track record of working with young and talented players.
