Javier Mascherano is a huge fan of Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa.

Leeds United have been receiving plaudits from left, right and centre this season, and it’s all deserved after a superb start to life under Marcelo Bielsa.
The Whites have lost just once in the Championship under Bielsa, and sit third in the table, one point of second placed West Bromwich Albion and just two behind top of the table Sheffield United.
Bielsa’s brand of football – fast-paced, high-tempo, high-pressing – has been popular for many years now, and fans in England are finally getting to see more and more of it with Leeds.
Bielsa was a marquee appointment for Leeds following the reign of Paul Heckingbottom, and there are almost certainly still some Leeds supporters pinching themselves at having Bielsa in charge.
The Argentinian – who managed his country at the 2002 World Cup and then led Chile at the 2010 World Cup – is credited as the inspiration for a host of managers, including Pep Guardiola, Mauricio Pochettino, Jorge Sampaoli, Diego Simeone and so many more.
Bielsa’s arrival at Elland Road has turned Leeds into major news around the world, and clearly some of his former players are keeping tabs on Leeds’ progress, with ex-Marseille left back Benjamin Mendy recently hailing him.

Now, it’s the turn of ex-Liverpool and Barcelona ace Javier Mascherano, as having been given his international debut by Bielsa, he has taken to Twitter to react to one of his press conferences.
Bielsa was captured discussing being called ‘obsessive’, as he feels that when he gets to a state of obsession, he is close to doing something wrong, and then discussed footballing philosophy with the aid of translator Salim Lamrani, with Mascherano reacting by stating ‘Don Marcelo’ – translated as ‘Lord Marcelo’ – with his former players still hanging on his every word.
