Javier Manquillo has dodged the question when asked if he thought Newcastle United was a bigger club than Sunderland, as covered by The Times.

Manquillo represented Sunderland last season, before making the switch to Newcastle in the summer.

“Newcastle is a very big club, I’d better leave it at that,” Manquillo joked.

Manquillo was a regularly in the Black Cats’ side last season, but he was unable to stop them from falling into the Championship.

The 23-year-old will be hoping that a similar story does not unfold at Newcastle, but there is no doubting that Rafael Benitez’s side are in a relegation fight.
