Javier Hernandez says that he wanted to leave West Ham United in the January transfer window, but he is now committed.

The former Manchester United striker, though, has stated that he will give his all for the Hammers between now and the end of the season.
The 29-year-old, who cost the Hammers £16 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2017 according to BBC Sport, has remained non-committal about his future after the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

“Yes, it was the case that I wanted to go,” Hernandez told The Mirror. “Not because I don’t like West Ham, but because I need to have minutes on the pitch.
“The World Cup is just around the corner and I want to play. But you can see that, even though my agent says I want to go, I have been doing everything I can in a West Ham shirt to help the team.”
“Now that the window is closed I am here and trying to achieve the main goals for the club, which is to be safe from relegation,” added Hernandez. “Then, in the summer, we will see.”

West Ham United fans’ concern allayed
Hernandez has not been a huge success at West Ham so far this season and is not guaranteed a place in manager David Moyes’s starting lineup.
One can understand why the Mexico international striker wanted to leave in the January transfer window, but his comments about being committed until the end of the season should be pleasing to the fans, who can be certain that he will not kick up a fuss and down his tools between now and the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
What the West Ham fans need from Hernandez in the final months of the season is to do his best and stay committed to the cause, as the striker could prove to be a key player in the Hammers’ quest to escape the drop to the Championship.
