Slaven Bilic’s West Ham United side are said to be interested in snapping up Bayer Leverkusen’s Javier Hernandez.

According to a report in Bild, West Ham United are interested in signing Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

Hernandez could depart Leverkusen, as he has only one year remaining on his contract.

The Bundesliga side are reportedly looking to receive just £13 million for Hernandez, and that makes him seem like a very cheap option for Slaven Bilic this summer.

West Ham have been scouring the market for forwards throughout the transfer window to date, but they are yet to find a player who fits into what they want.

David Gold told TalkSPORT yesterday that West Ham want a proven Premier League forward, who fits within their price budget.

And Hernandez may just be the best option available to the Hammers.

Hernandez has already shown himself to be a lethal finisher at Premier League level, during a spell with Manchester United.

The Mexican international scored 37 goals in 103 Premier League appearances during his time with United.

And if West Ham can obtain him for £13 million, as they are interested in doing, it could turn out to be one of the bargain buys of the summer.
