The Mexican is a big fan of Tottenham Hotspur.

Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez has heaped praise on Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Manchester United star will be trying his utmost to damage Spurs’ Champions League hopes at Wembley Stadium this evening. The Mexican international saw a great chance against Tottenham expertly saved by Spurs’ French goalie Hugo Lloris and will be hoping to go one further this evening.

Chicharito has been speaking about Spurs this week, as reported on Eurosport. He had high praise for Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino and said he always felt it was a matter of time before Spurs became title contenders in the Premier League:

“It doesn’t surprise me because they have a very good process, a top trainer in Mauricio Pochettino and they have kept a lot of good players.

“Sooner or later I thought Tottenham would be, if not winning the title, in the top four and the Champions League. It doesn’t surprise me.

“We see them as one of the toughest teams in Europe definitely. We play offensive styles, with pressure against the opposition team.”

That is indeed flattering from the Mexican but Tottenham will know that Bayer Leverkusen will not be a soft touch this evening.

They impressed in the tie at the BayArena last month and Tottenham have lost their only previous fixture they played at Wembley, going down 2-1 losers against Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.

Tottenham will no doubt be hoping to show Hernandez just how good they can be in this evening’s tie – and pick up a much needed win in the Champions League.
