Leeds United manager Javi Gracia has waxed lyrical about Tyler Adams at his latest pre-match press conference.

The Whites boss says “there is nobody” else like the 24-year-old at Elland Road.

Adams is currently on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury he suffered in training at Thorp Arch.

This will see the United States international miss out on this weekend’s meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In addition, Adams will not be in action for his country later this month.

Gracia also confirmed the midfielder is seeing a specialist to see how long he’ll be out of the team.

“He is different than others – there is nobody like Tyler,” he said, as per Leeds Live.

“Other players are different. In this case, we have all the players ready.”

Gracia said he could look to use either Weston McKennie, Darko Gyabi or Archie Gray in Adams’ position this weekend.

“As you can see in the last games we played, we started with Tyler and Marc,” continued Gracia.

“The game before, Tyler and Weston.

“We have other players waiting for their chance – maybe this is their moment.

“I’m sure all of them are ready to compete at a high level.”

Putting together a big squad has been beneficial

Adams is a ‘magnificent’ player and it’s a shame he’s on the sidelines. Hopefully he won’t be out long.

In the meantime, McKennie is likely to partner Roca in midfield.

And with Roca rarely finishing the full 90 minutes, Gyabi and Gray could potentially replace him mid-game.

Jesse Marsch’s desire to put together a fairly big squad looks to have been a good call.

Leeds should have enough to get by without Adams being available at present.
