Jason Tindall has been trending online as fans begin to pick up on the 45-year-old’s antics at Newcastle.
Eddie Howe’s No.2 has gone viral over the past week after a Twitter account – named Jason Tindall desperate to be centre of attention – highlighted a number of moments in which the Englishman has arguably overstepped his role as Assistant Manager.
As Jason Tindall hits the headlines, let’s take a look at the funniest things he has done since arriving at Newcastle…
Jason Tindall
Well, some of these are, quite frankly, hilarious.
Back in March, The Athletic published a story about Tindall, where his relationship with Howe and his journey to this stage of his career was highlighted.
Within the article, some mischievous antics carried out by Mad Dog – as he is nicknamed at Newcastle – were revealed, which you can see below.
- Kicking a ball onto the pitch to stop Arsenal from taking a quick throw-in
- Yellow card for doing the same against Crystal Palace
- Tried to convince the fourth official that Fulham had an extra player on the pitch
- Calling Nick Pope over for a chat when Bruno Guimaraes required treatment – the England international then hit the deck himself with an unknown injury
- Being called into the referee’s office at the City Ground during a clash with Nottingham Forest

As the days go by, more emerges about Tindall – who 90min believe Howe would not accept the Newcastle job without having on board.
One theme that has become apparent on Twitter is the Mile End-born coach’s tendency to shake hands with the opposition manager before Howe gets there first.
In one video which went viral earlier on Thursday, Tindall can be seen presenting his hand to Gary O’Neil after Newcastle’s 1-1 draw against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium back in February.
Hilariously, O’Neil snubs him to shake Howe’s hand first, leaving Tindall to stare on almost in disbelief – you can see that moment below.
Of course, this is all in jest, and Newcastle fans surely love to see how involved Tindall is during games and also behind the scenes.
Whatever he and Howe are doing on Tyneside, it is working – the Magpies sit third in the Premier League with just three games remaining.
