Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has been linked with West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
Jason McAteer has suggested to The Mirror that Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge should move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window.
According to The Daily Mail, West Ham United are interested in signing Sturridge from Premier League rivals Liverpool this summer.
The 27-year-old is one of the best strikers in the Premier League when he is fit, but the England international has struggled with injury issues in recent years.
During the 2016-17 campaign, the former Manchester City striker was able to make only seven starts in the Premier League for Liverpool, scoring three goals and providing one assist in the process.
Former Liverpool midfielder McAteer, who is 46 years of age, has suggested that Sturridge should move to PSG in the summer transfer window, not West Ham.
“I’ve heard West Ham want to sign him,” McAteer told The Mirror about Sturridge. “But my personal opinion is that Daniel would thrive at somewhere like PSG.
“Playing with superstars like Edinson Cavani and Angel Di Maria would suit his game. In France, he would also be out of the constant spotlight.”
While one can understand the temptation to join PSG, Sturridge should be wary that he may not play regularly for the French giants.
Edinson Cavani is one of the best strikers on the planet and is a world-class player, and the England international may have to play second fiddle to him.
